We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management team at Heritage Expeditions and the crew aboard the Akademik Shokalskiy for welcoming us on a two-week journey through the South Pacific to demonstrate See-LEVEL, our innovative virtual reality solution for seasickness.
This practical demonstration aimed to engage passengers and gather valuable feedback for our ongoing research and development. The Akademik Shokalskiy, a 75m ice-class research vessel, hosted 39 passengers and 7 crew members, navigating various sea conditions, from calm waters to gale-force swells.
Outstanding SuccessThe results of this trial were overwhelmingly positive. During our voyage, 14 out of 39 passengers experienced seasickness, confirming the widely accepted theory that approximately 25% of passengers are susceptible to this condition under average circumstances. Passengers reported an 85% success rate in alleviating nausea, with many expressing their desire to use See-LEVEL again on future trips.
Passenger testimonials highlighted the effectiveness of See-LEVEL, with comments like:
“I returned to my cabin with See-LEVEL; 20 minutes later, I returned well enough to complete my dinner.” - Curtis Smith
“It really helped the second time I used it in my cabin.” - Helen Clarke
“If this is available to buy, I would definitely get one for my next cruise.” - Rachel Foote
Engagement and CollaborationOur team had the pleasure of working closely with the crew, including Captain Igor Kiselev and Medical Officer Dr. Janet Maccaw Pribble, who recognized the potential of See-LEVEL as a valuable option for passengers.
In addition to gathering usage data, we calibrated our systems multiple times during the journey, ensuring optimal performance across varying sea states. The warm reception from both passengers and crew members provided crucial insights into improving the experience and accessibility of our technology.
Looking AheadThis successful trial not only demonstrated the effectiveness of See-LEVEL in mitigating seasickness but also highlighted the need for innovative solutions for travelers at sea. We are excited to continue refining our technology based on this valuable feedback and look forward to future collaborations with Heritage Expeditions.
Thank you once again to the entire team at Heritage Expeditions for your support and partnership. The memories of the islands, wildlife, and friendships we forged will remain with us forever as we strive to enhance the experience of sea travel.See-LEVEL Shines During Sea Trials on the Akademik Shokalskiy
